You should have your dog vaccinated against the following diseases:
- Canine distemper virus
Also, Incidents of Leptospirosis have spiked in recent years, so we recommend vaccinating against. If you bring your dog hiking, or live near wooded areas, it’s also a good idea to consider vaccinating against Lyme disease.
Lepto and Lyme vaccines will be done separately from core vaccines.
As with dogs, vaccinating cats against rabies is a legal requirement in Ontario; we also strongly recommend vaccinating for the following:
- Feline viral rhinotracheitis
We also recommend vaccinating against feline leukemia-- particularly for outdoor cats.
*For adult dogs and cats with no previous history of vaccination, booster will need to be given 3 -4 weeks after first initial dose*
